Daily inspiration, splash of colour

I guess that you might get tired of my many images that are similar. White rooms, a lot of Scandinavian style & the occasional splash of colour.  I try to vary but falls back to what feels natural & appealing, now & then. So here we go again.

Daily inspiration, sandwich

I love sandwiches, in almost all forms. When they are a little more filling, they work great as a nice lunch. Especially if they are as healthy as possible, which means no white bread, at least.  How about grilled Caprese toast with burrata & grilled avocados – does not that sound nice?

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: We all want everything to be okay. We don’t even wish so much for fantastic or marvelous or outstanding. We will happily settle for okay, because most of the time, okay is enough.

Water is the softest thing, yet it can penetrate mountains and earth. This shows clearly the principle of softness overcoming hardness.

My kids are starting to notice I’m a little different from the other dads. “Why don’t you have a straight job like everyone else?” they asked me the other day.

I told them this story:
In the forest, there was a crooked tree and a straight tree. Every day, the straight tree would say to the crooked tree, “Look at me…I’m tall, and I’m straight, and I’m handsome. Look at you…you’re all crooked and bent over. No one wants to look at you.” And they grew up in that forest together. And then one day the loggers came, and they saw the crooked tree and the straight tree, and they said, “Just cut the straight trees and leave the rest.” So the loggers turned all the straight trees into lumber and toothpicks and paper. And the crooked tree is still there, growing stronger and stranger every day.
